Mahtari Vandana Yojana is the flagship welfare scheme of the Government of Chhattisgarh, launched on 1 March 2024 by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai. Under this scheme, eligible women receive ₹1,000 every month directly in their bank accounts through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) — no middleman, no delay.
The scheme is managed by the Women & Child Development Department, Chhattisgarh through the official portal mahtarivandan.cgstate.gov.in. The name “Mahtari” means “Mother” in Chhattisgarhi — reflecting the deep respect this scheme gives to every woman in the state.
As of April 2026, the 26th installment has been released — a total of ₹16,881 Crore has been transferred to 68.48 lakh women since the scheme began. The year 2026-27 has been declared “Mahtari Gaurav Varsh” (Year of Women’s Pride) — scheme budget has been increased to ₹8,200 Crore.

This scheme helps women of Chhattisgarh in financial, social and health aspects of life.
Monthly Financial Support — ₹1,000 Every Month
₹1000 every month transferred directly to bank account via DBT — no middleman, no delay, 100% transparent. Since March 2024, 26 installments have already been released. Each beneficiary has received ₹26,000 in total till April 2026.

- ✔ Name in Panchayat records or BPL list
- ✔ Valid mobile number for OTP and SMS alerts

- ✗ Family has Income Tax paying member
- ✗ Family has Government Employee (Class 1, 2 or 3)
- ✗ Current or former MP / MLA family member
- ✗ Chairman/Vice-Chairman of any Govt Board/Corp

Fill the Form
Enter Aadhaar number, OTP verify, then fill personal details, address, husband/guardian info carefully.
Upload Documents
Upload all required documents — clear scans only. Self-attest offline copies for physical submission.
Final Submit
Review all entries, click “Final Submit” and download/print the acknowledgment receipt for tracking.
Verification & DBT
After 15–30 days verification, approval SMS arrives. DBT starts in the next monthly cycle.

Top Reasons Why Applications Get Rejected
Avoid these mistakes to ensure your application is approved on the first attempt
Incomplete or Pending eKYC
Bank account not linked with Aadhaar, or eKYC not done on portal. This is the single biggest reason — complete eKYC before deadline (30 June 2026).
Name Mismatch in Documents
Name spelling different in Aadhaar, bank passbook, and marriage certificate. All documents must show exactly the same name — get corrections done first.
Joint Bank Account Submitted
Scheme requires the woman to have her own individual bank account. A joint account (shared with husband or parents) is not accepted — open a separate account.
Blurry or Incorrect Documents
Uploading unclear photos, expired documents, or wrong documents (e.g., voter ID from another state). All docs must be clear, valid, and from Chhattisgarh.
OTP Verification Failure
Mobile number not linked with Aadhaar, or entering wrong OTP. Make sure your registered mobile number is active and Aadhaar-linked before applying.
Duplicate Application
Submitting multiple applications for the same woman with different details. Only one application per Aadhaar number is accepted — duplicates are auto-rejected.
Income Limit Exceeded
Family income certificate showing more than ₹2.5 lakh/year. Ensure income certificate is valid (not older than 6 months) and issued by authorized Tehsildar.
Ineligible Category
Applicant is unmarried, or family member is a government employee / income tax payer / elected representative. Carefully check eligibility before applying.
